Our theatre opened as The St. Marys Theatre on November 1, 1928 and has been entertaining for almost 100 years ever since.
Currently, the theatre is owned by the Lynch family, who purchased and renamed the business Apollo Theatre. Together with the help of the community, they undertook renovating the theatre to modern standards, from new reclining seats to a more efficient concession stand and a new sound system. Special attention was paid to the entrance lobby, restoring it to more closely resemble its original appearance. Apollo Theatre was remodeled over a period of almost six months, and could not have been possible if not for the generous hours of volunteering and donations bestowed by countless many in St. Marys and vicinity. Apollo Theatre opened its doors on May 15th, 2009 with special showings of Hannah Montana and X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Further improvements were made during the summer of 2010 when air conditioning was installed and August 2012 when the theatre installed its first digital projectors.
Our theater has become a staple of the community and we take pride in our rich history. Please visit our theatre to hear more about our history and to see our cabinet of photos and memorabilia.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
